School Uniform

At Hallbankgate School, we have very high expectations and promote the idea that everything we do should be the best that it can be: from behaviour and attitudes to learning, to kindness and presentation. This formed part of the rationale behind undertaking a uniform review, as well as to reduce the number of options, thus making it clearer for families about what our school uniform is.

Our revised school uniform can be found here.

In summary, there are a few minor changes that came into effect from September 2020. The uniform choices have been simplified. The main changes are:

  • One colour of trousers/skirts/shorts/tights: these will now be dark grey only
  • Hooded jumpers can no longer be worn in classrooms and will be phased out (school hooded jumpers can, however, be ordered to be worn in PE only).
  • Leggings and trainers (instead of school shoes) are not permitted.
  • Active-wear/ sports-wear (instead of the school shorts, t-shirt and school hooded jumper) are not permitted in PE or in After School Sports Clubs.

Orders for uniform are placed every half-term where there is sufficient need.
