At Hallbankgate Village School, we aim for all children to THRIVE.
We believe that every child deserves to feel valued, confident and inspired, with the skills, knowledge and character to flourish in an ever-changing world. As a small village school at the heart of our community, we nurture a strong sense of belonging and encourage and support every child to discover their strengths, embrace challenges and believe in what they can achieve, whilst recognising and respecting the strengths and differences of others.
Our vision is built around THRIVE:
T – Togetherness
We are stronger together. We create a welcoming, inclusive school where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We value friendship, teamwork, kindness, democracy and respect, working together as a school, family and village community.
H – Health and Wellbeing
We nurture happy, healthy and confident children. We support children to understand and care for their physical and mental wellbeing, develop positive relationships, manage challenges and recognise the importance of balance, resilience and self-care.
R – Reaching for the Stars
We encourage every child to dream big, set themselves high expectations and believe in their own potential. We celebrate effort, ambition, curiosity and perseverance, inspiring children to embrace opportunities and reach for the very best they can achieve.
I – Inspiring Others
We encourage children to be curious, creative and courageous learners who make a positive difference to those around them. Through their words, actions and achievements, we want our children to inspire others and become responsible, confident contributors to their community and the wider world.

Our values underpin everything we do. We promote kindness, respect, honesty, responsibility, courage and compassion, helping children to develop strong moral character and understand how their choices and actions affect others.
E – Environment
We value and care for our school, our village and the natural world around us. We provide children with opportunities to explore, appreciate and protect their local environment, developing a sense of responsibility for the world they inherit.
Through a broad, balanced and inspiring curriculum, we develop confident communicators, independent thinkers, creative problem-solvers and lifelong learners. We celebrate each child's individuality while ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
At Hallbankgate Village School, we strive for our children to leave us with the skills and knowledge needed for the next stage in their lives, as well as happy memories, strong values, a love of learning and the confidence to make a positive difference.
